Calvin Chow was someone I had known for quite some time on the internet before actually meeting him in person. It may have over a year, or perhaps two. I recalled seeing images of him, wearing the occasional swimwear and seeing a very well developed upper body. Toward the end of last year, I struck up a conversation with him and made arrangements try to meet up, just to talk about the shoot. Two times we were supposed to meet and two times we never made it. Then a few weeks ago, we finally caught up with one another. It was clear that this young man was very nervous and fearful about being photographed, and about what he would be getting into. As it turned out, he very much wanted to be photographed, but his other half was very much against it. We decided in the end that we would do a very simple test shoot without going into anything beyond being shirtless. Here are a few of the shots I quite liked.

Finally got around to working on another shot of the haughty Keifer in this very ‘chuen’ look (basically it means cocky!).

Here is the retouched photograph of Keifer from Hong Kong, a guy who I photographed several times before, but this one was a bit more experimental in the posing. I thought this image looked good in a blue-green tone, although the black and white version worked quite well too.

Rex is Chinese, a dancer here in Hong Kong. The strongest feature with him is his face, strangely appearing older behind the lens than in person. This angle of him I quite liked, with his arms and hands cupping his youthful body.

Vietnamese composer-songwriter An in a shot we did in an alleyway in Chai Wan, near my studio. The diffused light was perfect as it streamed from above…
